This bird can imitate chainsaws and car alarms! Wtf?!?

I didn’t really think that my Animal Adventure series would delve into the avian realm. Probably because I like animals that are quirky and weird, and birds don’t usually fall into that category in my book. BOY WAS I WRONG. This lyre bird is a copycat. It imitates the noises of its surroundings, not just other birds but camera shutters! You gotta watch this…

By the way I got this from Carlena Altman‘s blog, a stand-up comedian who also makes Jewish rosaries… Interesting.

PS: Honorable mention to the extinct Dodo bird, the original bird that tickled my fancy since my youth watching cartoons. What cartoon had dodos in it? I can’t remember, someone help me…

    This has to be the funniest shit I’ve ever seen !! By the way, it looks like the bird is peeing over the top of his head when he bends over at the very end of the clip ! Crazy !

    The only one that I can think of that was actually a Dodo was the Tiny Toon Adventures cartoon character called “Gogo Wackston the Dodo” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gogo_Dodo).

    The Loony Tunes Dodo-like character that rin rok’d is thinking of was actually a Mynah bird, and was in the Merrie Melodies cartoons (which was actually a spinoff from the Loony Tunes original series.) Used to love watching that as a kid. Really weird hypnotic walk and music. And I used to think that it was a Dodo as a kid, so maybe it’s the one you’re thinking of?

    I know this might not be the most appropriate place to post this but for other readers living in the USA are you concerned about the debt? It just seems like it is getting to the point where the country is going to go bankrupt and my husband and I are just a little concerned that our kids and grandkids are going to have some big problems in a few years.
