The making of “My President is Black” beat
Check out this behind-the-scenes look into Tha Bizness’s Logic 8 session for the glorious Jeezy beat. I’m seeing Logic infiltrate the rap game, and I like it.

What, no White Castle?
Algeria’s Salim Haini, dubbed as the “man who eats everything”, puts on a display of eating nails, glass and light bulbs in a bid for recognition.
Salim Haini is used to crowds gathering round him as he performs his incredible gastronomical feats munching through nails, newspapers and light bulbs. He says he wants to eat his way to a Guinness World record.

Maino is actually pretty funny
But I wonder if he predicted that today his album would get pushed back till May…. haha! That, my friends, is called dramatic irony.
Why does his handwriting make me laugh?
Michael Jackson doesn’t realize he’s down with SIAM
Vegas here I come
Last minute gig, DJing this Magic party on Wednesday for Cassette Playa / Fruition / Undefeated. With such a triumvirate of cool stores & brands at the helm, I can’t tell if this flyer is ironic or not!
“Modeling” for Sixpack’s new lookbook
Sixpack is one of my favorite clothing lines, they come from France and they work with lots of designer buddies of mine: Cody Hudson, Dust La Rock, Parra, Akroe, Gaspirator, Grotesk, etc. In fact I made 2 of my Sunglasses Is A Must tees with them. So when they asked me to lend my mug to their new lookbook it was a no-brainer. Here I am with Brodinski and Qoso. Apparently I jump high. That’s what they told me at the shoot. Newfound talent.
Also peep their High Snobiety column.
More Playboy Love
Do the bunny-hop over to Playboy’s Rock The Rabbit site and check out my interview! They also have features on Perry Farrell and Pharrell (haha… *wiping tear* seriously), MGMT, Q-Tip and others. I gotta go pick up the current issue of the mag, where they show the t-shirt that Dust La Rock and I made for them! [insert "I buy it for the articles" joke here]
Storytime: When in doubt, use a potato
I’m stuck at the airport so I’m gonna tell you a little story. You know I’m like Abe Simpson with the stories. I recently hired a handyman to come fix a few things at my apartment. I’ve got these blinds that get stuck, and it’s a really big window, I want that light. I also have a ceiling fan with 4 light fixtures on it and ever since I moved in, 1 of the 4 sockets was unusable. The metal base of an old lightbulb was stuck inside it. 2 weeks ago I was working calmly at my computer and suddenly a lightbulb exploded from that thing on the ceiling. No warning whatsoever, just a loud “POP!” and glass all over the floor. Melle Mel in my head going “Broken glass, everywhere!” Spontaneous combustion of the bulb? Beats me, but at that point 2 of the 4 sockets were cockblocked, so I had the handyman look at that too. As it turns out this man is normally a photographer and he told me he’s shot Mixmaster Mike before. But he had no idea who I was.
Anyway he gets up on my stepladder, inspects the light sockets and determines that he can’t remove those metal bases with simple pliers. But he’s got an idea. He looks at me and says: “I’m gonna go buy a potato. Back in 5.” Apparently this is a trick of the trade. Not sure what trade, but it worked! He got a thin potato, and I’m not sure what he was doing with it exactly but I think he wedged it (no pun intended) inside the socket and used its potato-grip to loosen up the metal thingee. At least that’s how I understood it. All I know is, now I have light!
GLC & A-Trak cutting room floor
I just saw this mp3 on the Kanye blog… might as well post it here too since I produced it!
Back in 2005/2006 I made this mixtape with GLC called Drive Slow and one of the tracks we didn’t use was this cover of DJ Quik’s “Born And Raised”. There’s no instrumental of the original so I had to re-make the beat. I did the cuts too. Not sure why this is leaking now but hey, I always liked this joint… here it is.
In the lab with Solange Knowles
It all started when Catchdini the Great Peruser of the Blogosphere found this: Solange Knowles listing “Say Whoa” in her fave songs of 08 year-end list. I thought “what in the world?” and went over to her myspace page, where I saw her talking about WMC and Justice and Midnight Juggernauts and I thought “iiiinterestinggg”.
