See your computer in Kanyevision
The smartasses over at F.A.T. (Free Art & Technology) made this code that allows you to “view the internet the way Kanye sees it”, i.e. through shutter shades.
I think this is for PC’s. Go to their post and drag some button onto your toolbar (that sounds like a PC word) and then allegedly every time you click it you can see the compooter like Kanye!
Actually the funniest thing when you go that page is the little player on the right where you can listen to Yeezy’s songs replayed on MIDI stock sounds.

DJ Spinna interview
DJ Spinna interview: he talks about his love for DJing, meeting Stevie Wonder and more.
Of course Spinna remixed “Say Whoa” and is also one of my favorite producers. Who remembers his remix for De La’s “Stakes Is High”?

Cover of Status magazine
Thank you Status magazine for putting me on the cover of the current issue! I think the mag is from the Philippines but I also heard it’s from Japan. Maybe someone can shed some light on that. Anyway I’ll be in both countries in a few days so I’ll get to the bottom of it!

Hobbits really existed
I know, doesn’t really look like Elijah Wood. This is fascinating though. In the last few years scientists have been discovering remains of a species called Homo florensiensis that lived in Indonesia as recently as 17,000 years ago. The big debate is whether these were small humans or another species of primates entirely, and they’re nicknamed hobbits. Their skulls were as small as a chimpanzee’s, they were really short, barely over 3 feet tall, but had very long feet! Scientists first thought that these were pygmy humans that underwent some sort of mutation but it’s becoming increasingly apparent that these hobbits were another branch of primates that we didn’t know about. Read about it here and here.

Qbert launches online Skratch University
You gotta appreciate how Qbert has assumed the role of Splinter in the turntablism community. The ultimate sensei (and once a mentor to yours truly), Q has already released multiple instructional DVD’s and today he took it one step further, opening a virtual DJ school at www.qbertskratchuniversity.com. Check the press release:
The long awaited Skratch University opens its doors today to the enthusiasm of Skratch DJs worldwide. QSU offers DJs a unique place to hang out, cut & build with each other. Qbert has posted his entire video curriculum online, from the most basic skratching techniques to advanced battle tactics.
QSU students watch the lessons & can send Qbert a video assignment for him & his crew to critique. Students will receive either a written or video response with notes on technique and style.
With these unique “Master Classes” accessible to all QSU students, the entire skratch community benefits from having access to a True Master. The QSU is the first of its kind AND the first university where cutting is required.
Fafi x Adidas sneak(er) peak

My good friend Fafi has been designing a collaborative collection with Adidas and just gave us a sneak preview of the HONEY MID shoe on the Cool Cats blog. Did she draw this while living at my apartment last fall? Probably not but one can always ask.
