Kid Cudi Afrojack Remix

We premiered this on the FG blog on Friday:
Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West & Common “Make Her Say” (Afrojack Remix)
Basically Fool’s Gold commissioned a remix package for this track and we’re happy to present you the first one, courtesy of the Dutch man of the hour Afrojack. I love how he kept the vocals and still made it a club mix. Great balance.
More remixes premiering very soon!
This guy remade “Shake It Down” on Ableton
God bless Belgium.
Check how this dude Timofey remade “Shake It Down”:
He also did Kid Cudi vs Crookers “Day N Nite”:
Went to see Kanye perform last night
I’ve only ATTENDED a handful of Kanye concerts. For the longest time I was just on stage and couldn’t see the show! I’m happy to be able to watch now, the guy’s good. Ha!
Kanye performed in New York last night at a G-Shock event and I went to watch with my brother. He did a one-time-only set design with video screens that were moved around by ninja-looking dancers. It was excellent, I loved the simplicity of it. Nice to see him talk to the crowd again, his rants are the best. No one can touch this dude. He was also wearing what looked like tefillin.
Here are a few pics of the night.
Don’t let Amber’s butt distract you — that’s Grand Puba on the left!
I dedicate the last picture to Nick Catchdubs.
Interview with Baatin (RIP)
Here’s an interview with Baatin and T3 of Slum Village taped in 2000.
Rest In Peace to Baatin, I find it astonishing that we’ve now lost 2 members of Slum Village. This will always stay one of my favorite hip hop groups, one of the most creative acts to emerge in the last 15 years. Baatin was a true original, a free spirit, and his presence will be missed.
This particular interview was conducted by Ronnie Reese, a great journalist. My favorite piece of his was the Waxpoetics cover story on Shuggie Otis.

Hiphopsite is selling lots of used vinyl
Hiphopsite used to be THE reference for online sales of vinyl in the indie hip hop heyday, when I had my previous record label Audio Research. Then a few years ago they switched to digital sales, understandably. But what’s cool is they continued to sell used vinyl.
They now have 2000 listed items on their used vinyl storefront on Discogs.Com and have a couple of specials going on too. Check them out!
I don’t even remember this Tribe bootleg:
Tron trailer! OK now I’m geeked.
Of course we all know Daft Punk is doing this soundtrack… I was already giddy when all the blogs posted this clip from Comic Con last week with what reeaaally sounds like a Daft track:
I’m hoooome…
I just got home from the month-long extravaganza that we called the 10,000LB Hamburger Tour. What a rapturous adventure! Of course there will be a full blog recap this week. But in the meantime here are a few of my favorite pics since the last post.

And a little bonus for the road:
