Get your boots out of that closet, it’s time to plan our trip to Austin for SXSW festivities. On Thursday March 18th if you’re asking me where to go (which I assume you are), I would say this is your best bet. Come catch Travis Barker & myself at our only SXSW performance: the Texas Takeover at Republic Live. Get advance tickets here.
My Fool’s Gold fam is also organizing an official SXSW showcase for the label on the next night, Friday. Of course I will be in attendance, peep that flyer after the jump.

Do you still need to buy tickets for the Thursday show even if you ahve a SXSW badge or are you good to go with a badge? Thanks!
p.s: What time is the showcase starting at on Friday?
Damn, I was hopin it would be free w/ rsvp, or door cover like the last 2 sxsw’s. Whats up with the badge only?

Hi fellas. Just to clarify, about the 2 shows:
The Thursday “Texas Takeover” show is a club show, it’s not an official SXSW party. So it’s open to the public, anyone can buy tickets. The badge doesn’t apply here.
The Friday Fool’s Gold showcase is part of SXSW so it’s open to whoever has the SXSW badge.
No RSVP’s for either show…
Oh and they’re both gonna be VERY COOL.

I know the thurs is purchasable, but the last 2 fools gold showcase’s admitted entry with no badge. 08 was at volume and was like $10, then 09 was free with rsvp…
Not tryin to hate or anything, but I live in austin and don’t get alot of fools gold comin through town. Saw the showcase in 07 and met chilled with your boy you flew in from europe or something(cool dude). Then saw the lineup in 09. Caught the bananas at barcelona last year. Finally saw You, AM, Major Lazer, and Autoerotique at speakeasy. I don’t get out of town much workin here and don’t get enough time off to warrant buying a badge, so I always appreciated being able to catch the fools gold showcase at sxsw.

I’d loose all my teeth from the amount of ragin’ that would take place at that show (dental lossage = when your bangin your head and arms like crazy and you smash your face against the front stage, I know it never happens but thats where I draw the “rage your teeth out” inspiration. BRING TRAVIS AND YOURSELF TO TORONTO!
