Chromeo in the dark
New video for Chromeo “Don’t Turn The Lights On” directed by Keith Schofield. I had to watch it about 5 times to catch all the details in the background…
Stones Throw x Fool’s Gold Discotheque tour

Last April for Coachella weekend, Fool’s Gold teamed up with Stones Throw for a party at the Ace hotel. The idea behind it was basically: “come hear some music that you won’t hear elsewhere this weekend”. No electro, not even any rap, just classic disco and old school house. It was our first collaborative project with Stones Throw, which is surprising since I’ve been tight with those dudes for years — they even released my first record back in 1999.
The party was a success and left us wanting more… So we decided to do a lil’ tour. We’re doing a boat party in Vancouver, playing by the waterfront in San Fran, doing a Lollapalooza afterparty in Chicago and, well, getting tax-free goods in Portland.
Check the full show listings after the jump. Come see us in your town. Bring your best dancing shoes. We’re here to move your hips. And if you have an artificial hip, we’ll make it squeak. I’m not really sure what that means.

Around The World Pt.27: European Festivals
As posted on the fab Fader blog… but more pics here!
Did ya miss me? It’s been many months since my last official Around The World post. The reason is simple: I reserve those for real tours, and I wasn’t doing heavy duty zig-zagging… Until now. Festival season is upon us, folks. It’s that time of the year when kids gather in fields, pitch up tents and live the dream. The dream of live music. Europe has a particularly high concentration of such festivals. So if you deducted that I’m currently in Europe playing festivals… you are correct! But how are the shows going? Did I prepare a special set for the summer? Can I charge my Sonicare toothbrush on European voltage? All those questions will be answered in this blog post. Read on, my friends.

If you missed Duck Sauce at EDC… meet the duck
On June 25th and 26th I performed at LA’s immense and much fabled Electric Daisy Carnival. The first night was with Travis Barker under our Travis x A-Trak project which we originally kicked off in March. See pictures below. We revamped the set, added even more wikki-wikkis and beefed up the lights on stage. And the second night was with Duck Sauce, our 2nd show ever, our first festival show ever, and the first appearance of… the duck.

A video teaser worth watching: Skream
There is an epidemic of “Behind the scenes” teasers for videos (especially rap visuals — they call them “B.T.S.”) that are all as useless and interchangeable as the next. The race for content in the blogosphere is getting ridiculous. This, on the other hand, is a true “Making of” feature that’s actually worth watching. It really makes me look forward to this upcoming video for Skream’s “Listenin’ to the Records on my Wall”. A biblical twist to the Amen drums… how appropriate.
