Best of 2011 in my books
The world’s about to end! Well, I’m not sure. But “twenty-twelve” rolls off the tongue nicely.
2011 has been a big year for music, especially for DJing in North America. Everything is “EDM”, I’m still not sure how that term became accepted. Meanwhile, rappers are rapping some rappin’ ass raps again and I love it. Genres continue to merge, people’s ears are more open than ever. There’s not a whole lot of bands right now. And some of the best albums of the year were free downloads — peep the top 3 of my list.
So without further ado, here are my year-end lists, just a bit late.
Albums:
1. Danny Brown XXX
2. The Weeknd House of Balloons
3. A$AP Rocky LiveLoveA$AP
4. Drake Take Care
5. Juicy J & Lex Luger Rubba Band Business
6. Rustie Glass Swords
7. Surkin USA
8. Kanye West & Jay-Z Watch The Throne
9. Frank Ocean Nostalgia, Ultra
10. The Roots Undun
Singles:
1. Kanye West & Jay-Z – N-words in Paris

Of course this is just my opinion… if you feel like yapping, taking it to the comments!
Here’s to making 2012 even more spectacular.
