Last April for Coachella weekend, Fool’s Gold teamed up with Stones Throw for a party at the Ace hotel. The idea behind it was basically: “come hear some music that you won’t hear elsewhere this weekend”. No electro, not even any rap, just classic disco and old school house. It was our first collaborative project with Stones Throw, which is surprising since I’ve been tight with those dudes for years — they even released my first record back in 1999.

The party was a success and left us wanting more… So we decided to do a lil’ tour. We’re doing a boat party in Vancouver, playing by the waterfront in San Fran, doing a Lollapalooza afterparty in Chicago and, well, getting tax-free goods in Portland.

This news is a bit old but I wanted to make sure it got immortalized in the ol’ blog-a-roni.

The results are in from the 2010 Beatport Music Awards and my Yeah Yeah Yeahs remix won Best Indie Dance/Nu Disco Track! It’s always cool to be Nu-anything. Not only that but I’m also runner up for Best Indie Dance Artist (behind the homie Boys Noize). So to anyone who voted: thank you!!!!
