531VICE and Project X’s Party Legends
For the upcoming Project X movie, Vice asked a couple people to tell stories about their craziest party night. I told a strange one about a different type of cat lady.
Cover of Billboard magazine!
This doesn’t happen every day. The Grammys are in a week and Billboard put Skrillex, Diplo and myself on the cover in an issue titled “Dance Dance Evolution”.
You can read the full story here and watch the behind-the-scenes interview below:
The full issue is in newsstands now. And scarves are in stores now too. #EDM
How To Make It In America: 3 Days Downtown
HBO did this profile piece on 3 New Yorkers around the launch of Season 2 of How To Make It In America. It features Curtis Kulig, Carlos Quirarte and myself. It’s kind of like Hustle & Flow, Downtown New York version. Check it out.
They also made this spoof of “Barbra Streisand” centered around the one and only Luis Guzman… #bieber
Behind the A
I spoke to Hypetrak/Hypebeast about my current “A” stage show and gave some more insight on where the idea came from, who developed it, what those buttons do, etc.

Hypemen podcast: tell-all interview
The Hypemen = the Rosenthal brothers from ItsTheReal + Jensen Karp.
Their podcast interviews are pure rap-nerd gold, so I was more than happy to participate. SPILL THE BEANS, TRIZZY. Who was I really supposed to DJ for at Roc-a-fella before Kanye scooped me up?

Macklobros meet the press
Pick up the new issue of Complex (April/May – the one with the potheads on the cover) to peep the full fashion spread starring my brother David and I. You can preview some of the shots over on their nifty website here.
While we were all in Austin at the same time for SXSW, I did some more press with the Chromeo boys. Check out this interview in, well, Interview… or if you don’t like to read, Spin has a video Q&A here.

Nashiem Myrick interview on Grind Music radio
Nashiem’s first beat was “who Shot ya” from Sean Cane on Vimeo.
This is crazy. Nashiem! One of the most mysterious, silent, unseen heroes of hip hop production. This dude made so many classics in his heyday and we’ve never really heard him speak. Props to my mans Sean C. & LV for tracking him down. I know there are more clips from the interview coming and I can’t wait to see the rest.

Guru and Run-DMC in 1993
As the hip hop community continues to mourn the loss of Keith “Guru” Elam, today I stumbled upon this interview by complete happenstance, a conversation between him and Run-DMC dated to 1993. I have to say, after reading some deeply disturbing Solar business over the weekend, it was a nice change to go back to better days and enjoy this slice of time with these icons of our culture.
There isn’t much editing in this piece. Admittedly it starts off a bit slow, with just Guru and DMC. Then Run joins in, followed by Jam Master Jay. By the time they’re all there, you’ll find some real gems. I think my favorite part is when JMJ gets crazy intricate talking about how they used to dress:
Jay: You got on the freshly dipped gear, that could be a pair of Lees, and a fresh alpaca, you know what I’m sayin, to match the Adidas, and a velour or a Panama, with the ribbon that’s matching your sneakers…
Run: That’s that pimp shit.
Jay: But the pimps ain’t rockin the Lees.
(…)
Guru: Before you guys, rappers were more like stars, with the flashy costumes
Run: They were trying to be like Rick James.
