DAY OFF! Free NYC Labor Day Party with Fool’s Gold + Friends!

September 01st, 2010

Putting a giant exclamation point on another summer of smash singles and packed-out parties across the country, Fool’s Gold is throwing a free DAY OFF party on Labor Day. It’s going down from 2-8pm in a great outdoor space behind City Winery in NYC (155 Varick St, entrance on Spring between Hudson & Varick) and the all-ages event will feature guest raps from Yelawolf, Pill and Donnis, DJ sets from The Brothers Macklovitch (Dave & me), Just Blaze, Craze, Klever, Kill The Noise and Nick Catchdubs, and a live performance by The Suzan. It’s truly a family affair, with their friends from Scion, The Fader, LTD+, Slow Roast, Jelly and more on board to make it a can’t-miss party!

Free download from Adam Kesher

February 27th, 2010

Our French buddies Adam Kesher (that’s a band not a dude) are coming out with a new album on Disque Primeur, the label that released some of my mix CDs a few years back like Oh No You Didn’t! and Sunglasses Is A Must LIVE.

This album is a family affair, I actually mixed 2 songs myself and my brother did some work on it too. The song they’re offering here, “Hour of the Wolf”, was mixed by the great Philippe Zdar (whom I spoke about in this post).

Download it HERE.

Around The World pt. 10

December 08th, 2008

As posted on the fab Fader blog.

I stayed in New York for most of last week and I went out on the town way more than I usually do. I’m usually a hermit caged away in my laboratory but I guess the tiger got out of said cage, so to speak.

Around the World pt. 8

November 24th, 2008

As posted on the fab Fader blog.

When I wrote last Monday, it was the last day of my 6 week stay in Paris. On that evening I went to have dinner at Guy-Man’s crib. Of course I don’t have any pics… Duh, who has pictures of Daft Punk? It was ill though, and pardon my selfishness but I don’t even really feel little telling stories. I’m too much of a fan, I gotta keep this one in my little mental cabinet. Dude is mad cool and he remembers seeing me DJ at WMC in 1998 when I was 16.

Around the World pt. 4

October 27th, 2008

As posted on the fab Fader blog.

Last week I came back from a weekend of shows with a cold and a busted computer and hard drive, determined to get things straightened out. So I went to this Apple service center here in Paris (they don’t have official Apple stores) and they told me it would take 10 to 15 days to swap my motherboard. I thought “I’ll show YOU a motherboard” (I don’t know what that means) and I said “non merci.” For a minute I even considered going to London to get it fixed. Thank goodness I know a few people at Apple in the US and they got me in the right hands in Paris. That simplified things quite a bit.

Trizzy Does Europe

June 14th, 2008

Time for one of my long-winded tour novelas. I recently wrapped up a European tour that spanned the whole month of May, one which I arbitrarily named the Upper Crust Tour at the last minute, in honor of that beloved chain of sandwich shops found in almost all train stations. After doing a whole bunch of tours with other people — the Fool’s Gold fam, Mehdi, Kanye, etc — I felt like going off to clubland (Europe) and back to raw DJing practically every night for 4 weeks. Of course I wasn’t literally by myself the whole month. In most cities I was sharing bills with friends from either continent. But it did feel like a pilgrimage to the land of the DJ, and on off-days I would often link up with other producers and work on music. I loved it. I started a Flickr page towards the beginning of my trip so you can catch my full set of pics here. Let’s dive into it.

New York party

May 03rd, 2005

Just a quick update this time. A few days ago Kanye had a party in New York to celebrate Common’s finished album and John Legend’s platinum status. Went there with big brother Dave and took a few pictures…

Could there be a certain collabo circulating on the internet? J Pizzle, I see you. In the words of Bizzy Bone: holla – holla – hollaaaaaa.
