Around the World pt. 8

November 24th, 2008

As posted on the fab Fader blog.

When I wrote last Monday, it was the last day of my 6 week stay in Paris. On that evening I went to have dinner at Guy-Man’s crib. Of course I don’t have any pics… Duh, who has pictures of Daft Punk? It was ill though, and pardon my selfishness but I don’t even really feel little telling stories. I’m too much of a fan, I gotta keep this one in my little mental cabinet. Dude is mad cool and he remembers seeing me DJ at WMC in 1998 when I was 16.

Four Fast-Paced Days of A-Traking

July 21st, 2008

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday I did 5 shows in 3 cities. You know what that means? A new blog for you, that’s what. I’m gonna throw Thursday in the mix too because I did some pretty neat stuff. So strap on your blog seatbelt and get ready for the ride.

Since I don’t know how to design I brought along Dust La Rock and Kesh for some help. When we arrived they had a whole team waiting for us. Nike staff supervising, interviewers, camera crew, people to help us design, etc. I felt pampered.

Do The Running Man

June 10th, 2008

I can finally announce my record! The damn thing comes out in 2 weeks. Sooooo Nike does this series where they ask producers to make a continuous 45 minute piece of original music meant for people to jog to. I made one and it comes out June 24th exclusively on iTunes. The only catch is I don’t run. In fact I said it in the official press release:

“I don’t really run. Yet when Nike asked me to do this track I was smitten. There was a musical challenge there, and I got excited. I’ve been producing mostly uptempo electro tracks as of late, but my background is hip-hop and I think you can hear it in my choice of sounds. I wanted this record to showcase my current style, but I also didn’t want to stray away from hip-hop completely. That’s why you find guest rap verses in the mix, plenty of chopped & screwed vocals, and a hefty dose of drums breaks that are surely more block party than Ibiza.” — me

But not for long because we made very limited quantities, so hurry. Hurry, you fiends of vinyl plates!

Now back to the torrid tell-all tales of traveling and tourism.
