Fabric

Fool’s Gold planted its feet firmly into the Old Continent last fall with the European Vacation tour, and the invasion continues in February when we take command of Fabric’s fabled Room Two.

My Fabriclive CD is out in the UK

April 17th, 2009

I now have 2 mix CDs on the market! Infinity +1 came out a few weeks ago and this week my Fabriclive mix came out in the UK. It will be released in the US in early May.

It’s actually pretty cool that both CDs are out at the same time because they’re really different and I think they complement each other. I made Infinity +1 first and I spent longer assembling it, maybe because it’s more conceptual. That one has somewhat of a unified sound, it’s all pretty melodic and spacey and heavily edited like a megamix. I made the Fabriclive CD immediately after and maybe in reaction to it, I made it a lot more like my actual DJ sets. It takes a lot of sharp turns and it’s pretty dynamic. I think you can sense the spontaneity when you listen to it. I hope you get to check them both out!

PS: I didn’t have a say in the artwork… I’m just sayin!

Here’s the track listing, after the jump.

Trizzy Does Europe

June 14th, 2008

Time for one of my long-winded tour novelas. I recently wrapped up a European tour that spanned the whole month of May, one which I arbitrarily named the Upper Crust Tour at the last minute, in honor of that beloved chain of sandwich shops found in almost all train stations. After doing a whole bunch of tours with other people — the Fool’s Gold fam, Mehdi, Kanye, etc — I felt like going off to clubland (Europe) and back to raw DJing practically every night for 4 weeks. Of course I wasn’t literally by myself the whole month. In most cities I was sharing bills with friends from either continent. But it did feel like a pilgrimage to the land of the DJ, and on off-days I would often link up with other producers and work on music. I loved it. I started a Flickr page towards the beginning of my trip so you can catch my full set of pics here. Let’s dive into it.

A-Trak Glows In The Dark

December 12th, 2007

WARNING: THIS IS A LONG POST!

Time to dust off the ol’ pad and pen. It’s the return of Alain Blogovitch. Web-Trak 2.0. Did ya miss me? I know, I know, my online chronicles took a severe dip in 2007. But I just finished the European leg of the Glow In The Dark tour with K-Dub and I simply had to let the ink pour. It’s now or never. Walk with me.

We’ve done a couple of Kanye shows since the new album dropped, but the official tour only started with this run. Whole new show, new band, new set, new stage design, new lights, new visuals, new catering. Nu rave? Almost, with all the neon-ness.
