Thanks Pitchfork!
This is a screenshot, don’t try clicking on those links…
Soooo I wanted to post a link to the Pitchfork review of Infinity +1. Not just because I’m happy with the score they gave me… that would be kinda lame. Rather, because I really like what Nate Patrin wrote. So if you enjoyed the CD or if you’re curious about it, I urge you to read it. This dude really honed in on what I was trying to accomplish. Song-wise, Infinity +1 isn’t supposed to be the most boundary-pushing CD. I just chose songs that I thought you’d enjoy listening to and that shared a common aesthetic. If you’re a DJ you probably already know a few of them. It’s meant for a wide audience, knowing that Thrive has that kind of reach, but the way I assembled it is where I tried to push the envelope. That’s the key balance right there. Every transition has something special about it. So I hope you guys enjoy the CD, and hopefully I got my message across by choosing songs that represent to me a slice of time right now.
My Fabriclive CD is out in the UK
I now have 2 mix CDs on the market! Infinity +1 came out a few weeks ago and this week my Fabriclive mix came out in the UK. It will be released in the US in early May.
It’s actually pretty cool that both CDs are out at the same time because they’re really different and I think they complement each other. I made Infinity +1 first and I spent longer assembling it, maybe because it’s more conceptual. That one has somewhat of a unified sound, it’s all pretty melodic and spacey and heavily edited like a megamix. I made the Fabriclive CD immediately after and maybe in reaction to it, I made it a lot more like my actual DJ sets. It takes a lot of sharp turns and it’s pretty dynamic. I think you can sense the spontaneity when you listen to it. I hope you get to check them both out!
PS: I didn’t have a say in the artwork… I’m just sayin!
Here’s the track listing, after the jump.
Infinity +1 in stores now!

Infinity +1 internet assault
My mix CD Infinity +1 is dropping on March 31st, in other words at the end of the month. Building on this “month” theme, we launched a new site: infinityplusone.tumblr.com which is like a calendar and every day there will be new content around the theme of the CD. Yesterday was the first day and we put up a teaser mp3 of the mix. Today there’s this video of me and my gorilla friend. Make sure you check in on a daily basis to get the latest coverage!

New mix CD coming: Infinity +1
Uh ooohhhh is that a new Dust La Rock cover I see? Time to announce a new release… Ring de alaaarrrm!! My new mix CD Infinity +1 is dropping on April 14th on Thrive records. Hard to believe that it’s already been 2 years since Dirty South Dance. This one is totally different, of course. I’m not going to try and describe it because that always comes off corny. I will say that my Sébastien Tellier remix is on it and that’s a fair indication of the overall sound.
I’m doing an Infinity +1 tour in March, peep the tour poster:
To add to the celebrations, The Fader announced today that they’re running a contest to give away my Serato picture disks! Go see what the excitement is about…
Also, keep an eye out for my Fabriclive CD, coming right after…
My remix for Sébastien Tellier
Check out my latest production… My remix of “Kilometer” by Sébastien Tellier. Truth is, I’ve been trying to stop remixes and focus on my own production but when I got this offer I just couldn’t refuse. It’s my favorite track on the album and I wanted Guy-Man’s parts! I even recorded a live string section, which is a first for me. Hope you like it!
This will be out in late February on Record Makers. Busy P called it “remix of the year” on the Coolcats blog!
The remix is also featured on my upcoming mix CD Infinity +1 coming out in April… official announcement is just around the corner!
