Around The World pt. 10
As posted on the fab Fader blog.
I stayed in New York for most of last week and I went out on the town way more than I usually do. I’m usually a hermit caged away in my laboratory but I guess the tiger got out of said cage, so to speak.
MySpace, Japan, and SIAM tour
Alright, that’s it. I had to do it. I’m sorry, I had to do it. I tried to hold off for as long as I could. But then when Illseed got on, I had to get on. Sure I don’t know Illseed but I’m a faithful Allhiphop reader, and I relate to the guy. So… I got on MySpace. It’s been about 3 weeks now so some of yall probably found me already. But if you haven’t… I’m at www.myspace.com/djatrak. You’ll see, the moose is there with me, holding me down.
Now that I got that out of the way… back to tour stories. Last time I wrote I was just getting into Japan for the last couple of shows of the Kanye tour.
Announcing Bonde do Role & my tour
Download alert! I did a remix for Bonde Do Role, Diplo’s first signing on his Mad Decent label. You can download it on their website, www.maddecent.com
Now if you’ll direct your attention to the Upcoming Shows section, you’ll notice something new. Another tour? Could it be? Yes folks, with no signs of my bed in sight, I bring you the Sunglasses Is A Must tour! With special guests The Rub. So catch me at a North American venue near you… I’m planning some new doodads for this one, should be fantidallytastic.
Call for submissions, MTV, Vancouver
Extra extra! Call for submissions!
I’m starting to plan a North American tour in February to promote the release of my DVD. I’m looking for somebody to do visuals on this tour. Obviously this would entail being on the road, I’d say for a good 3-4 weeks. And I’m looking for someone who understands the aesthetic that I’ve been working with in my projects so far, who has experience doing visuals for live shows and who can bring lots of creativity to the show. Please email me your submissions (info@djatrak.com). Thanks.
Now back to the diary… The MTV $2 Bill show was off the chizzain. I heard that they’re already airing ads for it on TV. I don’t want to spoil the surprises before the broadcast but we had some very special and entertaining guests that night. Later on we stopped by the Guitar Center Spin-Off, where Common and Kweli were performing, and Diplo and Madlib were spinning.
