End of the Touch the Sky tour
That’s it for the Touch The Sky tour. Over 2 months, 45 shows, room service out the wazoo… Now I’m trying to remember what happened since my last update but it’s kind of a blur at this point. Heck, I can’t even remember my room number today. I know I caught the flu somewhere in there. I know we went to El Paso, TX and I looked for the guys who said “New York City?!?” in the Old El Paso commercials, in vain. In Denver we stayed at the same hotel as Dubya Bush, which went from being smirk-funny for a microsecond (what with the Kanye comment) to being a big pain in the tush when they locked down the hotel for hours. But it makes for a good story. Our LA show was the most star-studded, with surprise guests like Patti Labelle, Common, Adam Levine and Jamie “watch me beatbox” Foxx. Our last show in Vancouver was bonkers… I think everyone gave a little extra umph that night. Boy, I’m gonna miss that tour bus, watching Curb Your Enthusiasm on my bunk before falling asleep and snacking on nuked boca-burgers courtesy of Kanye’s trainer, G.I. Josh.
Abbey Road, Touch the Sky tour
Re-Extra-extra: this is a new update but I’m leaving the call for submissions up here. So don’t trip and read below, party people.
Call for submissions! I’m starting to plan a North American tour in February to promote the release of my DVD. I’m looking for somebody to do visuals on this tour. Obviously this would entail being on the road, I’d say for a good 3-4 weeks. And I’m looking for someone who understands the aesthetic that I’ve been working with in my projects so far, who has experience doing visuals for live shows and who can bring lots of creativity to the show. Please email me your submissions (info@djatrak.com). Thanks.
And now, back to our bidness. First of all, I know it’s been a minute since the last minute. You’ll have to excuse me — the Kanye tour starts tomorrow and it’s been pretty insane in the last couple of weeks, trying to get ready and finish a bunch of work before hitting the road. I’m really excited though.
