December 20th, 2010

This afternoon my twitter feed was taken over by #internetrapper puns, which immediately reminded me of #jewishrapnames (my favorite moment in twitter history).

Consumer report: Twitter apps for BlackBerry

May 27th, 2009

To fully dive into the Twitter experience you need it on your phone. You have to be able to tweet something as soon as it crosses your mind. Sure there’s a way to make it work through text messages but if you have a BlackBerry you’re gonnna want a proper app. I’ve tried 4 different ones in the last couple months so I thought I’d round up my thoughts on each one. Here is my first ever consumer report.

1. TwitterBerry

This is usually the first Twitter app that people get on a BlackBerry. For a long time I think it was the only one, and the name really gives you the impression that it’s all you need. At first glance it seems like it does the trick. After all, Twitter is pretty simple: you send your tweets, you follow your friends’ timeline and you check your replies. However Twitterberry is lacking in a few functions. The biggest thing missing is the absence of Direct Messages. You also can’t go look at someone’s profile, nor can you follow/unfollow users from Twitterberry, nor is there a ReTweet option. The most frustrating problem is just that it sometimes freezes, and nothing on a BlackBerry should ever freeze. Still, it remains the de facto program for most BlackBerry users.

Rating: 6/10

Noreaga’s on Twitter

December 09th, 2008

I joined Twitter 2 weeks ago and I admit, I’m completely hooked. It seems like there’s been a Twitter explosion lately. I joined around the same time the New York Times ran a story about Shaq getting his twit on after finding out about an impostor. Shaq has been hilarious and one of my favorite parts about this experience. Who can forget when he wrote about how the camera was catching him twittering during a game? But I’m afraid Shaq-Fu has been dethroned. NORE is my new favorite.

Peep this series of messages which all came back-to-back this afternoon:

Around The World, pt. 9

December 01st, 2008

As posted on the fab Fader blog.

There ain’t much around-the-world-ness going on for me right now, folks. Now that I’m back from Paris I’m doing about 1 gig per week and for the most part staying home and recording. After Christmas I’ll be going to Australia and New Zealand but for now I’m rather sedentary. Last Thursday I did a gig in London…. Ontario! It’s a city about an hour away from Toronto. I think the last time I played there was in 1998, possibly with Obscure Disorder, the rap group from Montreal that I used to DJ for.
